Easily overshadowed by popular Cocoa Beach to the north, Indialantic is a small surf town with a lot of “mom and pop” flair. Located directly across the Intracoastal Waterway from Melbourne, about halfway between Jacksonville and Miami, Indialantic is an attractive town boasting a handful of popular local dining faves and small surf shops along its two main corridors, SR A1A and US 192. The beach in this part of Florida also has a distinctive look, with dunes covered in sea grapes instead of sea oats and light turquoise waters like one might expect to see in the Carribbean. A short boardwalk lines the dunes near where A1A meets 192, equipped with showers for rinsing Indialantic’s especially clingy gray sand off your feet.
